The client was the national authority responsible for shaping Saudi Arabia’s tourism strategy, international positioning, and execution of global launch initiatives. In 2019, the authority led one of the most significant milestones in the country’s modern history, the official launch of Saudi Arabia’s first international tourist visa (eVisa) program, opening the Kingdom to non-religious tourism for the first time.
This initiative represented a cornerstone achievement under Saudi Vision 2030, marking a major shift in how Saudi Arabia engaged with global travelers, investors, and tourism partners.

Project Overview & Content
SilwaTech developed an interactive iPad and Android application designed specifically for use during the gala event and associated launch experiences.
The application functioned as a digital experience and demonstration platform, allowing attendees to explore Saudi Arabia’s tourism offerings, understand the eVisa journey, and experience the Kingdom’s transformation through guided, touch-based interactions.
Given the fixed government launch date and global visibility, the project demanded rapid execution, stable backend connectivity, and onsite technical readiness.
To celebrate the launch of the international tourist visa program, the Saudi government hosted a high-profile, invitation-only gala event during September–October 2019 as part of the global “Welcome to Arabia” initiative.
The event featured:
